Linkin Park’s “Up From the Bottom” hits No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart, giving the band a … More
After months of promoting From Zero with a handful of huge, hard rock hits, Linkin Park began teasing a deluxe edition of the effort — and with it, new music. The first of two focus tracks from the expanded project, “Up From the Bottom,” has been steadily climbing Billboard’s radio rankings for several weeks now.
This frame, it jumps to the top spot on two tallies it had yet to conquer. As it does, the celebrated group breaks out of a tie and stands alone with a historic number of champions on one of the most competitive airplay rankings in the United States.
“Up From the Bottom” Hits No. 1
“Up From the Bottom” climbs from No. 3 to No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart this week. Linkin Park’s latest cut replaces “God Needs the Devil” by Jonah Kagen, which spent just one turn at the summit. The From Zero (Deluxe Edition) single manages to lead the list of tracks with the largest number of audience impressions across alternative radio stations in the U.S. in its eighth frame, which is a remarkably quick ascent.
Linkin Park’s 14 No. 1 Smashes
Linkin Park collects its fourteenth No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart as “Up From the Bottom” rises to the top. As the band adds to its growing list of leaders, it breaks its tie with both Cage the Elephant and Green Day. Previously, all three acts had been steady with 13 rulers. Now, this all-time list has shifted.
Red Hot Chili Peppers Still Win
Only one group beats Linkin Park in terms of the most No. 1s ever on the Alternative Airplay chart. Red Hot Chili Peppers remain just one winner ahead of the hard rockers — at least for the time being.
“Up From the Bottom” Follows “The Emptiness Machine”
While several singles taken from the From Zero album have proved to be huge commercial wins, only one other track taken from the set has reached No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart. “The Emptiness Machine” debuted in September 2024 and, just a few weeks later, rose to No. 1. It would go on to spend five weeks running the show.
Follow-up cut “Heavy Is the Crown” peaked at No. 6, inside the top 10, where the group has now collected 22 successes.
Linkin Park’s Longest-Running No. 1s
In addition to claiming the second-most No. 1s of all time, Linkin Park has also scored multiple long-running rulers. “What I’ve Done” stands as the band’s longest-running champion, with 15 weeks on top. Both “Numb” and “New Divide” held on for an even dozen frames.
